A Wildlife Wonderland
Spanning over 2,850 sq. km, Tarangire is a sanctuary for an impressive array of animals. Its defining features—lush floodplains and expansive grasslands dotted with towering baobabs, tamarind trees, sausage trees, and varied acacia—create the perfect backdrop for unforgettable game viewing.

At the heart of the park flows the life-giving Tarangire River, the only permanent water source in the region. As the Maasai Steppe begins to dry after the long rains in June, thousands of animals migrate back to this vital river, transforming the park into a dramatic stage of wildlife activity. From June to end of October and also high concentration of animals all year around, Tarangire boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania.

What Awaits You
Expect up-close encounters with majestic elephants, massive baobab trees, graceful giraffes, maybe the prides of lions, and vast herds of zebras and wildebeest. The park is also home to elegant gazelles, impalas, waterbucks, etc.

A Birdwatcher's Paradise
With over 550 bird species recorded, Tarangire is a dream come true for bird enthusiasts. From colorful rollers to majestic raptors, the skies and trees are alive with avian wonders.
